1500 K Street Canopy

1500 K Street was originally built in 1928 and named the Southern Railway Building, massing a total of 260,737 SF overlooking McPherson Square. The renovation of this mixed-use Class A Office and retail structure designed by Callison RTKL takes advantage of the stunning neo-classical architecture and the new vision for this structure, creating a modern office building to be appreciated for many years to come.

The canopy glass on the interior of the lobby entrances is custom artwork implemented with GGI’s Alice® direct-to-glass printing for a unique design aesthetic that gives respect to the original architecture.
The Alice® glass is tempered to fuse the design permanently into the glass, then laminated with .060 Sentry Glas™ interlayer to meet the overhead safety glazing requirements.
