200 Amsterdam
Located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, 200 Amsterdam is a luxury residential high-rise developed by SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan America. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects with interiors by CetraRuddy Architecture, the 52-story tower showcases refined materials and wellness-oriented detailing throughout. For the building’s podium-level façade, GGI fabricated 168 insulating glass units featuring a custom Alice® direct-to-glass print. The graphic mimics softly pleated drapery to create privacy while maximizing daylighting. Each fold of the faux drapery design incorporates variable opacity, both vertically and horizontally, resulting in a visually textured surface with enhanced solar control and a cleanable, dust-free interior finish—meeting multiple criteria for health and performance.
GGI also fabricated glass for other key features within the project, including low-iron tempered glass entrance systems printed with the same Alice® design for visual continuity. In the residential spa and bathroom areas, GGI supplied custom-fabricated frameless shower enclosures using ultra-clear low-iron glass and satin-etched glass to achieve both transparency and privacy.
The multifunctional ceramic print used in the Alice® process becomes permanently fused to the glass during tempering, making it UV-resistant, scratch-resistant, and ideal for both exterior and interior applications. The installation was completed by American Industries Corporation (AIC).
