Aspen Burn Residential Bath Design

Aspen Burn Residential Bath Design

The Aspen Burn Residential Bath Design showcases GGI’s innovative glass technology with a custom shower door featuring an aspen grove in winter. Utilizing GGI’s Alice® Direct-to-Glass printing technology, the artwork was printed onto the glass with an adjusted opacity level to create privacy while maintaining the character of the striking design. The stark contrast between the snow and charred trees forms an abstract, ink-like effect, fulfilling the design’s intent to provide privacy. Artist and designer Julie Richey collaborated with fine art photographer Jeff Baker, highlighting glass as a medium for artistic expression, seamlessly blending functionality with artistry to enhance the bathroom’s aesthetic appeal.

“The process of working with GGI and the glazing contractor was so easy,” says Richey. “Jeff transferred a high-res photo of the Aspens to GGI, and they took it from there. After giving feedback on a test sample, the custom shower enclosure arrived on a special pallet designed to protect the glass during shipment. The shower enclosure was fabricated complete with hardware and ready for Villatoro Glass to install. The GGI team was so professional and made the process easy and enjoyable. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results,” says Richey.
"This photograph was originally taken for a show entitled “Gaia’s Rant” at Conduit Gallery in 2021 highlighting climate change issues. The fallen trees in snow reminded me of early Jackson Pollock in their abstraction. Only a year after this image was made, the Canyon/ Hermit’s Peak fire, a controlled burn gone out of control, scorched close to a million acres of forest land making it the largest conflagration in New Mexico’s history, " shared Jeff Baker. www.jeffbakerfineart.com
